This year 2022 will be marked by the bicentenary of the deciphering of hieroglyphs by Jean-François Champollion and the centenary of the discovery of the tomb of Pharaoh Tutankhamen. As a museum and scientific establishment of the Fédération Wallonie-Bruxelles, the Royal Museum of Mariemont holds the second most important Egyptian collection in Belgium. It intends to position itself as the leader of this double commemoration and to develop for the occasion a cultural dynamic throughout the national territory, and even beyond. The Museum will therefore offer a real cultural programme with no less than seven exhibitions!
